BiteFinder is a group of fishermen / computer programmers with over 120 years of combined fishing experience.

We were frustrated with the tools available to fishermen on the internet. We found that there was no clean and simple way for us to keep track of our fishing data, recall that information, and combine it with data from other fishermen, and use it to help plan our next fishing adventure. Typically, if we wanted to find out where the fish were biting, one of us would get up at 3:30 a.m., call some pay-per-call services and sit there and listen and write down as fast as we could all the information that was being spewed out. We`d rather had spent the time getting the boat ready or making lunch or something. Once out to the fishing grounds, we prayed that all the information had been written down correctly. Doing this 20 times a year and being technologists, we thought there must be a better way. What if I could simply download all my fishing diary information and all the other fishing information that was available on the Internet to my Palm Pilot and take it with me? That`s when the light went on and that`s why we built BiteFinder.
